Tam's Beach Layout

Hi everyone, Tam here.  I'm sharing my second layout that I created on the weekend.

This layout was one of those that come out of a big whoopsie!

I had quickly grabbed some Distress Ink, pulled off the top, and was ready to start splodging on the page with the sponge tip....but what I didn't notice was that the entire lid had come off, and paint poured onto my cardstock - a pretty big blob.  Aaargh!  I quickly grabbed a scrapey thing (aka an old credit card) and smeared the paint around a little.  And I loved the results!
I impatiently waited for it to dry because suddenly I had a total new plan for the layout.  I loved the new direction it took me in.
So don't ever think that you have 'stuffed' your layout.....often my favourite layouts come from 'fixing' mistakes - it pushes me out of my comfort zone!  In this instance I think I may just have discovered a new technique, that knowing me I will probably do to death on my layouts.....haha

Here's the result:

And a close up.....

I love the photo, taken of my beautiful girl on a recent trip with special friends to Carrickalinga.  Really beautiful beaches down that way, and we have a wonderful couple of days relaxing and unwinding.

TAM FINALLY SCRAPPED!!!!

Yes everyone, hold onto your hats, I actually scrapped!  It's been a while.....sometimes life just takes over.  With school holidays and then back to school stuff, it's been a little tricky to squeeze some 'me' time in.  And boy did I need it!

So yesterday I made the time and I scrapped 3 layouts!! Woohoo!! Go me!

I'll start with sharing one today and I'll share the rest over the next few days..... (mainly cause I'm itching to get back in my scrap room and not photograph and blog!)

This one is a photo I took last weekend.  We went to visit my step-dad and my favourite uncle was there too.  I snapped this shot of him and my boy and I love it.

I love how it turned out. It's a bit crooked but that's my photography, not the layout.  I love the metal/boyish feel with the splashes of red. I enjoyed getting a bit grungy with the stamping, and I loved adding those Micro Beads......although I think there's as many on my floor as on my page!

Here's a bit of a close up

Well I'll be back soon to share some more.....
Luv Tam

NEW!!!! ..... Kaiser Craft ...

Hi Guys

The awesome Deb sent me some very yummy NEW Kaiser Craft goodies this month to play with. I will admit at first look I was like .. " What is she thinking?" ...  " I don't have a BABY!!, my kiddies are all GROWN" ... But as I looked at the papers, I realised I could have a little fun with this.
This layout shows you the even "themed" papers & stickers can work with anything you like.

I also got a chance to finally play with my AWESOME & oh so YUMMY Dylusions Paints ... Yes you read that right .. the new paints, I finally have them in my hot little hands .....

Another week of Tam's Project Life

Well I'm pleased to share another Project Life spread with you all.  I'm loving how quickly I've been churning them out lately!!

This week included Mothers Day.  I got some beautiful cards/letters from my kids for Mothers day, and these are definitely the things I want to keep forever, so putting them into my Project Life Album is a perfect solution.  I use sleeves from a 6x8 Album - I like that they are a different size and create a point of interest.  I also do this to keep the kids school reports and any notes or things I want to remember that don't fit in the standard pockets.
It's lovely to flip through my albums and come across these little memories.

The left hand side:

The right hand side:
You will notice that I have tucked a letter from my daughter into one of the pockets. I often do this too, I like to include things with my kids writing on them, little pictures etc.

And here's the added insert which contains the cards from the kids:

And that's it....another week caught up on....only 6 more to go!!
Have a  lovely weekend
Tammy

Art Journal - STARS ...

Hi Guys!

Hope everyone is enjoying the school holidays! ... My sweet darling daughter Jorja is driving me NUTS! ... She is 9 going on 19, & thinks she know EVERYTHING! ... ARHHHH ... Crazy crazy.

Last night I had a HUGE urge to play with my paints. My awesome Ceramcoat paints! ... They are really easy paints to use, I just LOVE finger painting with them & getting all messy. The best thing ... is they are super cheap ( only like $2.50 each! ) & available over on the Deer & Fawn website!
I had already decided I didn't want to do  a "girl". I started to think about Van Gogh and his amazing art & his famous " STARRY STARRY NIGHT " painting, which I LOVE & went from there!

Using the Ceramcoat Paints, I finger painted my background
so it looked like a night sky.
I also fingered painted hills & grass.
Using my black Pitt Pen, I started to add some Tangles
on the grass.

Taking a sheet of watercolour paper, I sprayed two sheets
withe Dylusions Ink Sprays.
I then hand drew a wonky house & tree & cut
the shapes out using my sprayed watercolour paper.

Finishing off, I tangled on the tree & house, stamped out
a flower. Using a fan brush I watered down
some yellow & white paint, then flick it over
my sky to mimic the stars.
Added my title, & she is all finished!

Sorry about the photos! Not much light ... :)

Thanks for stopping bye!

Next I covered the Autumn Leaf with Gel Medium and a piece of tissue paper, waited overnight for it to dry & painted clear Gesso over the top.

Using Watercolour I started to bend a selection of orange's & yellow over my Autumn Leaf, unitl I got my desired affect.

Project Life Inspiration - create flap inserts

Hi everyone!
Tam here, thought I'd quickly pop in with another Project Life Spread, and bring you some inspiration for the upcoming weekend.

The left side:

And the right:

This week was a big one - lots on, and as a result I had excess photos - too many!  When this happens I like to make a little flip style pocket. It's really easy to do and allows me to add in all my photos.  I just stick some photos back to back (ensuring the back one is upside down, so that when the flap lifts, its the right way up), and then attach to the project life card using a strip of washi on both the outside and the inside.  So quick!  An instant 'lift the flap'.  For this trick to work, you need to use a pocket that opens from either the top (like in my photo below) or from the side.

The top photo flap then sits on the outside of your plastic pocket, and can be lifted and read without needing to remove anything from the sleeve.  Very handy!
Why not give it a try?

Happy creating!! And Happy FriYAY!
