Birthday Card

Afternoon everyone, I am here to share a birthday card to go with the little note books I covered last week.

I used the Desktop Collection once again and some Thickers from my stash. It is a very simple card but I love how it turned out.

So I used a pre folded card that comes in a pack of like 100 from kmart and simply just used my trusty double sided tape and put one of the prices of gold foiled 6x6 papers onto the card and trimmed it.

So I like to use a ruler to place my alphas I and to get them straight.

Then I embellished a little with the chipboard stickers from the Desktop collection.

I hope you liked my card to go with the note books.

Crazy Busy!!!!

Hello!

I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day over the weekend!

Me, ... Well not so good .... My Hubby Mark, had to go to Tassie for work for 2 whole weeks!!
Boy, its been hard doing EVERYTHING around here! ...CRAZY! ....
Shhhh ... don't tell anyone but, I have never realised how much Mark helps around here! ...lol
And too top all that off, I had to move my Grandparents into their new Retirement Home!
That was hard work.

Enough about that, On a better note, I received my AWESOME new Design Team pack this week.
I swear, Debbie just keeps out doing herself!
When I opened my pack, I knew exactly what my first layout was going to be. The colour's are perfect.

16 TODAY

I used modelling paste to create some texture running down the middle of my page.
I wanted to try something a little different.
In my mind I was just going to leave it white, but once I moved my embellishments
around, I felt it was lacking.
So out come my Liquitex Inks!
I just love the extra colour it brings.
After that it all just fell together.
A simple layout, Very rare for me.

Covered Notebooks - Lydia

Hey everyone I am super excited to be here as a Deer Designer and here with my first post.

Today I am showing how to cover and decorate cute little notebooks.

The notebooks I use are $2-$3 for a 4 pack of A5 notebooks. I find these in the craft/notebook area in Big W I think the ones I have here are from the 'Collected & Co'. I like to have a few packets on hand for quick and easy birthday presents.

So here is how to cover and decorate your little notebooks - I pick my papers I want to use for the front and back cover. These books I only covered with printed paper on the front and just white card stock on the back. I have used the cute 'Desktop' collection by Becky Higgins Project Life 6x6 paper pad. All I used to stick the paper on is with my trusty double sided tape and then trim the rest of the paper off.

Once the front and back cover paper are on I use wash over the spine. I like to use 3 pieces.

So then it's the fun part, you get to start decorating your notebooks. These 2 I have used some super cute coloured doilies from the Deer & Fawn Designs shop and the cute Chipboard stickers from the ''Desktop' collection by Becky Higgins. There's even a touch of hold in this collection.

So there you have it a cute, easy and quick way to make a little birthday gift or even just for yourself.

I hope you like my first Deer Designer post and I can't wait to see what you create if you do one of these notebooks.

TTFN from I'm Miss Polley

Hello Everyone!

Today it's my turn to say 'TTFN" (Ta Ta For Now) to you all as it's also my last day as a Deer Designer, but before I get to my layout, I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Debbie for the opportunity. It's boosted my confidence greatly in the crafting world and rekindled my love for getting a bit messy with craft, and even got me preparing for regular blogging!

These days, I wouldn't normally do a full scrapbook page but this little technique I will be sharing today is definitely an old favourite of mine, which WILL save you $$ in the long run! You could easily use it on PL cards as well, which is on my 'to-do' list.
So what is it? Texture paste!

I've been making this stuff for a little while now, I use a small Moccona coffee jar (air tight!) for storage and follow the VERY simple recipe below:

1/2 cup Baby Powder
2 Tablespoons white glue (I've used PVA in this batch but a Matte liquid glue like Mod Podge is more true to real texture paste)
1-2 Tablespoons White Acrylic Paint

So for this layout, I grabbed one of my favourite stencils from my stash (I think Kaisercraft) and a piece of cardstock and spread away with a credit card (If you don't have an old credit card, use a store card, scrap chipboard, spoon - whatever works!).
I wait till it dried (This is why I am actually a day late with my post :P) then picked up some Heidi Swapp Color Shine and sprayed about 5cm or less away from the paper - this will leave a giant pool of awesome shimmery stuff in one spot. Before it dries, tip your paper up so the excess can run down the page. My now blue & green kitchen bench tells me its a great idea to use newspaper underneath or in the kitchen sink.

I tore a piece of paper from the Playful paper pad and added a few stickers from Kaisercraft Sea Breeze collection along with a title I designed and cut with my Cameo.

Thank you a bunch for all your support over December & January, I really appreciate it!

Till next time,

Emma x
