Our Mini Docker

Hi there!

It's Melinda here today sharing with you a 12 x 12 LO I completed using the Project Life Nautical themed kit which is not something I would normally grab due to all that purple!! But it has worked magic for me on scrapping my 1st ever LO of my biggest little guy in all my Fremantle Dockers gear ;)

I started with a plain white piece of textured cardstock then sprinkled some purple (I mixed some red and blue together) mist across the page as the base of my background. I found an anchor stamp in my stash and stamped that a few times across the diagonal and then located both the star and heart stamps from my stash and decided to do little clusters of stamps as a starting point. From there I stuck down my 2 3x4 project life cards and photo. Used some green glitter chipboard alphas and some tile alphas to spell out my title.

I had a little bit of fun with some Dusty Attic chipboard pieces - Arrows #1 which I first gesso'ed then used an ink pad to make them red and added some glossy accents to give them that glossy finish. I really wanted to bring a few pops of the red along with the white, purple and green since these are the teams colours.

Some enamel dots from Debbie and some star veneer from my stash and all done!

Here are a few close ups of my layout

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my creation for this week!! I know I had fun playing (and just quietly, reminiscing, this little guy will be 5 in a few short weeks and this photo was taken the year he was born!!) and can't wait to make more time to play with the awesome box of more goodies I received just yesterday from Debbie!!

Mucking Around ...

As you all know I love everything MESSY! The last week or two I have signed up to a Christy Tomlinson Mixed Media class. I am loving every second!

Christy Tomlinson, is well known for her " She Art " canvases. I love the way she creates her art, Yumminess ....
In her Mixed Media Class she is teaching us how to make our very own " She Art ".
So last night after watching a class, I was so inspired to give one a go! I spotted the SNAP! - Seasons Cards on my desk and loving the colours, I used them to make my dress for my very first " She Art " Tag!

I had so much fun playing and getting messy! I hope you like my finished product!

Funny Face!

Hello all ....

How's everyone's weekend treating you? ... I am down in Melbourne and we are having the most beautiful weekend in along time.. I LOVE Summer, my favourite time of the year.

I have spent most of my weekend scrapbooking. Once a month I hold a scrap day at my place on a Saturday. A place for all scrapping friends to come and scrap, eat and drink WINE! ... lol.
So yesterday, I made all my 4x6 cards for Deer & Fawn's card swap over at Deer and Fawn's Facebook page! .... If you haven't joined up, PLEASE do! I received some beautiful cards last month from the D&F girls! So much FUN.

I also done a layout using some yumminess from D&F online shop! ... I am telling you our Debbie carries the BEST products, if only I was in the $$$, I would buy one of everything! ;) .....
As always I will list the products I used ....

"FUNNY FACE"

details ......

Using the Snap! - Seasons 3x4 cards, I cut out a heap of circles in different sizes. Ruffing up the edges a little with Gelato's I stuck them down on a mixed media background I created using white card stock, Gelato's, plasters tape and Faber Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel! ... So FUN!

If I don't have dirty hands and a messy table at the end of the day, there is something wrong! ...

Any questions on my design this month, please leave a comment!

bye 4 now .... Connie xxx

Layouts to Share

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are having a great weekend :) I just wanted to share a couple of layouts I did at the recent retreat I went to. They are very simple layouts but I had fun creating them as I do not have a lot of time lately to sit down and actually scrap :)

I hope you had some time this weekend to get creative :)

Week 45 with Melinda

Hi there!!

Melinda here again with you today and I am sharing another PL spread!! This week I have done our week 45 and have used a mix of the Teresa Collins Studio Gold cards (the 4x4's, the 2x2's and the 6x4's) which are stunning!! I have paired those cards with some from my stash and also (again!) used the Heidi Swapp September Skies ephemera pack and also the Chic Tags Cloud 9 Mini Icons - these are so, so, so cute!! Oh, and I have also sprinkled around some of the Studio Calico gold camera's :)

Here you go with the double page spread

And my left side

And the right

I am totally loving our week card from this side!!

Here are a couple of close ups

I matted the photo on one of the 4x4 Studio Gold cards trimmed down and I have actually inked the edges of almost everything with black soot distress ink since there is so much white!! As you can see very clearly in this close up as well I have used some plain cream cotton thread for a few stitches here and there :)

Another of the Studio Gold cards has been used here, this one a 6x4 :)

I couldn't find another card I wanted to use here for journalling but saw these cute little polka dots on the back of the packaging for the Chic Tags and, well, it made an appearance ;)

I really love the simplicity of this card, I just stapled on one of the clear pieces from the Heidi Swapp ephemera pack.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this week in our album, till next time,
Mel

NEW GOODIES!!!

On Monday, I received another beautiful DT package from Debbie FULL with all the yumminess you could ever imagine!
As soon as I opened this package I started creating straight away.. I couldn't wait ... Lets just say we have take-out that night ... :)

I think you are all starting to see what "my" style of crafting is .. I LOVE Mixed Media everything! I LOVE to make a mess! I also enjoy using products in a way that they weren't made for.
Get those creative juices flowing!

So this week I use some products from the Elle's Studio - Sycamore Lane line!
When I first opened these products, the first thing I noticed was they had a Autumn theme to them.
So straight away I knew I wouldn't be using them for an Autumn project.
As I started to go through the cards, I was really drawn to the colours of a couple of the cards decided to use them as layers on a 12 x 12 layout.
I just love creating in this format!
I also remember just the other day I took a really cute image of my Pug Blossom on my iPhone! Easy!

This layout came together so quickly, I love that feeling when everything just fits and falls into place!

Week 41 with Melinda

Hi there, Melinda here sharing with you my 1st creation for Deer & Fawn!

I am yet to receive my parcel from Debbie full of what I'm sure will be some lovely goodies so I have used some of the beautiful supplies I have received in my 2 Deer boxes!

My page came together fairly easily when I decided which supplies to use.

For the spread I have used the We Are Memory Keepers "Hello Life" Albums Made Easy 3x4 and 6x4 cards and paired those with the gorgeous Heidi Swapp "September Skies" ephemera pack. Which, I must be honest, was not something I would normally purchase, all those flowers scare me, especially with 2 little boys running around!! But I actually had a heap of fun making use of them and am super happy with the way my spread turned out!!

Without further ado here are my 2 pages together

I have paired these 2 products with some thickers from my stash and also my sewing machine. Nothing else added!! So impressed with myself!!

Here is a close up of the left hand side

And the right hand side

And I took a couple of close up's of some of those embellishments clusters starting with our Week 41 card

Love, love, love pairing those acetate pieces with the paper pieces. Oh, I have inked all around the paper embellishments with my antique linen distress ink too. All my acetate pieces have been attached with my tiny attacher, behind other pieces when I want the staple hidden and right on top on other pieces (like the little triangles and the "hello").

And another close up of that 3x4 filler card.

This card started out yellow with the "life is beautiful" printed. I added some flowers, some machine stitching, an arrow some of those cute triangles.

That's it for me today, I am so excited to be working with these gorgeous products and seriously can't wait for either my DT box to arrive or for my next Deer box to arrive.

Until next time,
Melinda

I am a Project Lifer and document weekly - all those tiny little moments, thoughts and happenings find a way into our album. I am also a colourer, I LOVE my copics! Since starting PL in 2013 I have become a little braver and have started 12x12 scrapping as well and am really loving it!!
