Amanda

Hi Deer & Fawn Designs Friends!

My name is Amanda-jayne Baldwin (Amanda or AJ) & I am so super excited to be a Guest Designer for Deer & Fawn Designs! I am a children's art educator for Little Picassos  & am a passionate mixed media and papercraft artist. I love all aspects of colour & creation, and basically not a day passes where I am not in the studio working on something - just the way I like it!

I began memory keeping about 5yrs ago, when I suddenly realised that I had no photographs of my own childhood to share with my children :( As a result, I've become a documenting junkie! I love traditional 12 x 12 scrapbooking but... I also really love the more contemporary 8.5 x 11" layouts, as well as mini albums, off the page creations, art journalling, planners...lol - basically if its memory keeping or paper - I love it!  I am absolutely inspired by my two beautiful children and my incredibly patient husband. They are my light, and the essence of all my creative joy! And naturally, the reason I scrapbook!

I am currently on Design Teams for Cocoa Vanilla Studio, Imaginarium Designs & Kaisercraft. I have also previously designed for A Piece Of Cake Designs, Couture Creations, Color Me Scrappy, Scrap & Play, and Paper Wings Productions. My creations have been featured in a number of publications including Jot Magazine, & Australian Scrapbooking Memories Magazine.

I would describe my style as fun, contemporary, feminine and always with a love of colour! I hope I can inspire you! If you'd like to know more about me, or see more of my creations please don't hesitate to visit my blog;

Sandra

My name is Sandra Scott and I’m married to a wonderful man who supports my creative hobby.  Between us we have four adult children and six grandchildren.
I’ve been scrapbooking for about eight years but I’ve always had some sort of craft ranging from sewing, decoupage, OTP projects, knitting and attempts at painting.
I can’t say I have a distinct style because I really like experimenting and being inspired by others.  I would say my scrapbooking is quite eclectic because some days I love clean and simple pages and others I love to get grungy or really girly it just depends on the task at hand.
At the moment I love experimenting with mixed media techniques and using ephemera from paper collections.

Emma

I'm Emma, and I live in the stunning Clare valley of south Australia with my hubby of 20yrs and 2 gorgeous boys!! I've been scrapping for approx 10yrs, and have grown plenty in my scrapping journey. I'm always up for a challenge, not scared to try something new. Scrapping is truly a passion of mine, every photo/event etc is just a reason to scrap. (I even dream about layouts, sad I know, but many I'm sure can relate)! Hehehe!

I don't think I really have a style, but I do love to layer, and I completely love embellishing!!!
Thanks so much for picking me as a guest designer, I'm very excited, and hope I can inspire.

Louise

Hi Deer friends

I'm so pleased to introduce myself as a Guest DT member for Deer & Fawn designs. Here's a link to my blog http://timelesscraftmumma.blogspot.com.au/

I'm a working mum of twin boys with a wonderful DH living in country Queensland. I was introduced to scrapping by my Mum who was a Creative Memories consultant many years ago. I took a break as life got busy and got serious last year - discovering the online community of scrappers.

I describe my scrapping style as eclectic. My layouts range from simple paper to intricate mixed media and I dabble in the odd canvas/OTP project. I also love my project life album as it really is all about memory keeping while I make pages as a form of artistic expression.

I'm so excited to be joining the talented team that Debbie has put together and can't wait to bring you some layouts and tutorials

And our Guest Designer for October is
Sarah

Thank you for having me as the Deer & Fawn October Guest Designer. I'm so excited to be able to share my layout with the theme 'About Me' with you all.
I am a mum of two boys, work full time and am an avid scrapper and scrapping researcher with every other spare minute I have.
I started scrapping about 10 years ago and my style has evolved over this time. I enjoy the challenges of pocket scrapbooking, Project Life as well as traditional layouts.
I have a love of photography, paper craft and mixed media so LOVE that scrapbooking can lend itself to all of these things!

Yay doing a happy dance with all the AMAZING ladies we have here and make sure you check back soon for their take on this months challenge... details will be in the next post :)

Thanks for stopping by

Not my Usual Colour :)

Hi everyone

I hope you are all well :)

This months challenge really got me out of my comfort zone..... I don't really scrap much with orange so I really enjoyed having to think out side the box :)

I just kept it simple for this layout and just enjoyed getting some mojo back (its been gone for a long time and is SLOWLY creeping back )

I look forward to seeing your entries :)

September Challenge!

Hi everyone
Just popping in to release the challenge for this month.......

This month's sponsor is the lovely Jodi at Corbett Creations.  She makes the most amazing Wood Veneers, and she is donating a prize this month (thanks Jodi)

As it's officially the first day of SPRING! (yay, finally), and this makes me and I'm sure you very HAPPY, so let's create a monochromatic creation using ORANGE (as this is bright and happy)! You can team it with black and/or white.  You can use any shade or different shades of orange that you like.

I love orange and I love that this challenge can be 'girly' or 'blokey'.  It suits anything. In my case, 'catty'.   Yes I have a black cat so decided to scrap a layout of her.  I went with a black polka dot background, and smeared a bit of gesso around.  I then stamped a little and added a few layers in orange.  It came together really quickly, and here it is:

Here's a close up:

I really hope you join in this month. We love seeing what you do with the challenges.  It doesn't have to be a layout - it could be a card, a mini-book, a journal page - whatever!
Don't forget to link up when you have completed your entry.

Happy SPRING!!

Tam's August Challenge Inspiration

Hi everyone!! Tam here....  Happy FriYAY!

Today I managed to find time to create a layout inspired by the August Challenge.  The challenge this month is a tribute to Debbie and all her hard work at Deer and Fawn.  The challenge is to create a layout/card/art journal page about something you are thankful for and to incorporate flowers into this.

My layout is a personal one.  It's a story about when my mum passed away, and how thankful I am to have been able to be there with her when it happened.  It's about what a privilege it is to be a part of a moment like this.
 (OUT FOR PUBLICATION)

I journalled quite a bit on this layout, so I tucked that into a pocket.  Here's a bit more detail.

(OUT FOR PUBLICATION)

I chose to work with blues because this was mum's favourite colour.  Here's another close up....

(OUT FOR PUBLICATION)

I love that scrapbooking is so personal for me.  I've been really missing her lately, and finding the time to document my feelings really helps.  When I look at this layout, although it makes me feel sad, it also makes me smile, as I now have something tangible that tells the story of how this moment made me feel.

I really enjoyed creating this one.....very therapeutic. I love that this challenge can be about something 'big', like mine, or it could be about something as simple as being thankful for your morning coffee!!
I look forward to seeing what you all do with this challenge......

Have a great weekend, bye for now......
Tam

New August Challenge

Hi everyone

This is both Connie and Tammy here.  Together we are announcing the new August Challenge at Deer and Fawn.

In honour of Debbie and all the amazing work she has done running the Website and Deer and Fawn Store, and because we are all sorry to see such an amazing store close for a while. We will miss all the wonderful products she gets in (seriously the best!), and we will miss her wonderful customer service.
So together, and also on behalf of all of you in the pretty awesome Deer and Fawn Community we would like to say......

THANKYOU DEBBIE!!

So this month's challenge takes inspiration from this......

Create a layout about something you are thankful for.
There are so many options for this....it could be something massive and meaningful or something simple.  It could be about a person, or a memory, your morning coffee or the sunshine on your face (What sun right?)  One more thing.....you must use flowers on your layout.
There will be a Mystery Deer and Fawn Prize Pack up for grabs.

We are working on our samples this week, so keep popping back for some inspiration.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Have Fun!

Tam's Fun Layout

This photo is one I've been wanting to scrap for a while.  It was the third page I completed last weekend, but have only found time to blog about it today.....it's probably good timing as it's bright and fun, something I know I need a little more of.  Winter feels like it's going on and on, it's been so cold and miserable where I live....a bit of light and brightness is required.  So without further ado.

For my daughters 12th birthday I set up a scavenger hunt through the town in which we live....lots of dares, lots of embarrassing things they had to complete.....and I requested photo evidence of all.  It was so fun and they really got into it.
One of the challenges was to have their photo taken outside Target, pretending to be mannequins. This was the photo evidence.....yep in their onesies! Love it!

I kept the layout fun as this was the feel of the photo.  I also wanted to go with the bright colours in the photo, but as there were lots of different colours, I anchored it all with a plain white background.  This was a really quick layout and was finished in about 20 mins (except for waiting for my paint splatters to dry).
