Hi Deer & Fawn fans, Lauren here! I hope that you are all having a great week and if you are in Victoria, enjoying the gorgeous spring sunshine!
This is my last week here at Deer & Fawn. I have absolutely loved being the September Guest Designer and I hope that you have loved all of the projects I have made, as much as I have loved creating them!
To refresh your memory I have created: a Project Life and traditional scrapbooking layout predominantly using the Project Life 'Peace, Love & Sunshine' Value Kit; a wedding card using gold as part of the September Challenge; a framed first birthday gift for a little cheeky monkey; and today, my final project is a Project Life spread.
Today I am showing you my Week 37 Layout - using the 'Peace, Love & Sunshine' value kit (which is still available in the store), although the beauty of these kits is that you wouldn't even know that it was from the same kit that I used in my previous layout - they are just so versatile!
One of the things I absolutely adored that Debbie sent me to play with was the Kaisercraft 'Happy Snaps' Clear Stamps - these stamps are awesome value and perfect for project life. As you can see I have used them throughout my spread! You should really pick some up in the store as they are just divine, great value and easy to use in any spread. You can see how I cut out the stamped camera image, along with the date stamp, on my title card.
Debbie sent me so many awesome goodies and a few of them were camera related so I thought that I would do a layout with cameras as the consistent element, along with splashes of red (to tie in with the main colour of my week due to an awesome carnival party), washi and cork.
You can see in the left hand side of my layout how I used the cameras along with the red striped banners (which I cut from two of the journalling cards) to really tie the layout together.
The cork Studio Calico cameras are so awesome and to continue the cork theme I pulled out some cork alphas that I had left over from a previous project. I even had the letters I needed, which as you all know isn't often the case!
This week I was documenting a couple of big events (a christening and a first birthday) along with some snapshots of everyday life - a lunch with friends, a hair cut and so many other things. This kit, along with the focus of cameras, was perfect to document the week. It reminds us that we need to document the everyday moments, like haircuts, alongside the big events.
So there you have it, my Week 37. Aside from the alphabet stickers, this layout was created exclusively using items from the Deer & Fawn store.
I have absolutely loved my time as the September Guest Designer. Thank you so much to Debbie for having me, it's been so much fun to create with all of these yummy goodies. To keep up to date with my creations make sure you visit me in my little part of the internet - Love.Life.Lauren. Keep smiling, Lauren xx

Monkeying around with Lauren
Hi Deer & Fawn friends!
I am having so much fun being here for September and I am so lucky that I get to play with so many different types of goodies!
One of the things I like to show people is how versatile pocket page cards are - you don't just need to use them for layouts. Today I am showing you a gift and card that I made for my friend's little boy Jack who just turned one!
Debbie sent me a packet of the Pretty Little Studio Silly Monkey - Silly Jessy Pocket Cards (which are available here in the shop) and I thought they would be perfect for Jack's gift - especially as he was having a circus party!
Using a frame from Ikea I made a piece for Jack's room - I also used the Pretty Little Studio Silly Monkey - Silly Freda flair and some of my favourite Pink Paislee Soltice gold stars. All I needed to add was some alphabets from my stash and some paper. I am so happy with how this frame turned out and I think it will be the perfect addition for Jack's room.
Using one of the other Silly Jessy Pocket Cards and the flair and stars I created a fun card too! To finish off the present I made a little gift tag using coordinating papers, the grey chevron washi and one of the flair. So there you have it - a easy gift set for a cute little boy!
I encourage you all to pull out your pocket page cards and get creative! Think outside the square - you never know what you will come up with! See you next week with another creation xx

Going for Gold with Lauren!
Hi everyone,
Lauren here! I hope that you are all having a wonderful start to the week - I know I am because I have been getting my craft on! Today I am going to show you my take on September's Gold Challenge and hopefully it will inspire you all to enter and win a great Kaisercraft prize pack!
Two of our closest friends are getting married in a couple of weeks and I wanted to make them a special card. I thought gold would be the perfect colour for the card.
This card also gave me the chance to try my Silhouette Sketch Pens with my Cameo. I thought that handwriting style font would look great on the card. The sketch pens are great and they come in so many colours! Which also called for some decision making - black or gold? Making decisions is one of the hardest things of crafting, but then again if that is the biggest decisions I have to make in my day I must be going ok!
I decided, after also consulting with some of my scrappy friends - design by committee is often the best part of crafting, to go with black.
The anchor is a meaningful symbol for our friends and I felt 'anchor each other' would be a perfect sentiment. I also decided to use one of the gold anchors from the Pink Paislee Solstice pack - this pack is awesome and jam packed of goodies! You need to go to the shop immediately and buy a pack before they all sell out!
To finish the card off I mounted it on some gold striped vellum that I had in my stash and called it done! It is a simple card but I think it is effective, especially with the gold! Now every card needs a fun envelope - so I found a gold doily, stuck it on the envelope and added some thickers of our friends initials. Super cute.
I really love playing with gold in my layouts - over on my blog you can see one of my older posts 'All That Glitters is Gold' where I did a completely gold layout - so head on over for some inspiration!
I can't wait to see all of your golden entries into the September competition! Keep creating, Lauren xx

Hello from Lauren: Spring has Sprung!
Hi Everyone,
I hope that you are all having a great first week of Spring! I'm Lauren and I am the guest designer here at Deer & Fawn Designs for September, so you will get to see me here, and over on my blog, every week showcasing a whole of lot of amazing Deer & Fawn goodies! I was so excited when Debbie asked me to be a guest - it is so great to be creating for a fantastic locally owned store!
Debbie sent me so many products to play with that I will be using throughout the month. Today I am going to be showing you a Project Life layout and a coordinating 12x12 layout. I was lucky enough to get to play with one of the Project Life value kits - Peace, Love & Sunshine - which is available here in the store.
This kit went perfectly with the photos that I was scrapbooking - it was a great week with lots of fun, including a hens' party, fun with friends, creativity and yoga! I love the colours of this kit.
In this layout I got to play with a lot of the great embellishments - including the great spotty washi tape which I used to tie the pages together, the WOW Thumbs Up veneer and my favourite the Pink Paislee Solstice gold stickers (you might want to pick up a pack of them for your entry into the September GOLD challenge.
One of the things I love to do is cut up the project life cards and use them as embellishments. As you can see above - I cut out the bright sunshiny day heart, the life and the day (in the hen's day title) - they add some great points of interest, plus they come from the same colour palette as the cards I used as the base for the layout.
I also wanted to show you all how you can use Project Life cards in your more traditional scrapbooking layouts. I include my traditional layouts in my Project Life album so I like to make sure that they tie in with the week they relate to. As you can see I cut some of the cards down to create interest and a journalling spot.
I also love using mists to create splatters on my pages, plus I love stitching and I thought that these flowers tied in really well with the floral card I used. I also used one of the Dusty Attic chipboards 'love this' - I used orange embossing powder to colour the embellishment to tie in with the layout.
I had so much fun creating all of these layouts and I will be back next week with some more creations! In the mean time feel free to come and visit me at my little part of the internet - Love.Life.Lauren. Have fun and keep smiling, Lauren xx
